I figured it was easier to post this once than to answer everybody in the various threads. In an attempt to transfer my domain name to a new registrar (the company that used to handle my domain stuff was sold twice recently. I figured it was time to move to somebody I know.)
The transfer failed and now things are in limbo. So, my site is down until this is resolved.

I had a weird experience this week with domain names, also: A domain that I host is set to expire in 2006 (according to the whois at internic) was reported as already expired by other sites such as dnsstuff.com. They are working it out with their registrar (TUCOWS), but I have never heard of that before.
Anyway- didn't mean to hijack your thread - just commiserating
Oh my current host is just fine. I used to be with ventures online ages ago and they were bought out by data393. It's data393 that's caused the problem.

Domain transfers are the most painful things I've ever had to deal with online...I hope it works out well and soon for you.
