I just wanted to find out if there were a lot of templates out there for free...
I just am trying to look at all of these different templates to find one I like, but I can't post (I think because I am not a registered owner of Vbulletin yet)
Anyway, I'm just trying to figure this stuff out. |

There are more modifications for VB than you will ever need.

So much more that I shouldn't even consider buying one?

It is simple. If you want your site to be unique and have a Style focussed on the subject of your board, you will have to either buy or make your own.
If you are using one of the many free Styles, you will probably not be the only one using that Style. |

Well, if I wanted one made by someone that looks like it has to do with gaming where could I go to find that? Any good places to just browse tons of templates etc? or find someone that would design for me?

Custom skin designers are RIDICULOUSLY high priced. I have never seen a professional skin maker charge under 250-300 bux. You can prolly find a bootleg designer for cheaper..
as far as skin designs go I recommend www.vbcore.com he makes very good skins..and if you get something from him..make sure you mention my name . |

KipLarson,
After you have bought a vBulletin License and updated your status here, you can post a request in our Service Request forum to find someone who can make you a Style for a price that suits you, no garantuees ofcourse that you will find someone wanting to do what you want for the price you want to pay. |

Ok, sounds good. I think what I'll do is first I need to find a host, I've been talking on other sites and I might go with Site5.com unless I hear a resounding no. And then I'll buy my Vbulletin liscense, so the template thing is somewhat on the bottom of the list, but I do want to find a good one.
Thanks for the help, Vbulletin community rocks |

The best way ofcourse is to learn how to do so yourself, which requires at least experance is photoshop or other such program and knowalge of xhtml. CSS and javascript is you want to get more advanced. Short of that there are many that do custom work, but they do charge a lot of an entire re-style of the board. My advice is if you want to start cheap see if you can find someone to do a custom header/footer for you, then have them set up the settings for colors in vBulletin to match the new header/footer. This will allow you to have something semi-custom and won't cost as much, and while it will retain the stock vB layout outside of the header and footer it will get the job done. If you ever wanted to customize other templates there are many 'template modifications' around here that you can use, installing these will teach you a bit of code to and in time you'll be able to write your own template modifications. |
