if i have a string

HTML Code:

&lt;strong&gt;Hello&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;

how would i go about changing that so if i call it from the database, it turns into html as opposed to

HTML Code:

<strong>Hellp</strong><br /><

? is their a function for that?
