Users Still Having Access to a Forum
I recently decided to take a hiatus from my vBulletin by demodding myself, and I thought everything was ok. But somehow even though I don't have moderatoring powers anymore I still have access to all the staff forums and stuff. Why is that?

Even if you de-moded yourself by removing your name from the forums, you could still be in the moderator usergroup.

I removed my name from the Admin group and removed myself from moderating any of the forums. The forums don't show up, but I had the Mod Forum Subscribed to and I can click on it and get in. As long as I have the link then it lets me in. But what causes this error? My permissions were checked and didn't have my access masks set to yes.

You could still be in the moderator usergroup. Even if you remove yourself from a mod list in any forum, you could still be in there. Check that you're not listed in the usergroup by asking someone to view the mod usergroup list in the Admin CP.

Is your userid maybe still in the config file for the $superadministrator var?

No, the user is *not* in the moderator usergroup. I'm running 2.3.7

If I have access masks disabled in the Options, then the problem doesn't exist. It's lying somewhere with the scripts or something... I'm not the only board that has had the problem. I could easily disable access masks but we use them with special forums that the members can gain access to.
Thanks for replying though... I don't know if upgrading to 3.0.7 would fix the problem, but I don't feel like I'd have the time to learn all the new variables and functions of the software. |
