Collapse Signatures and Avatars in Posts · **Released**: 06-22-2005

Users can go to their User CP and choose to show or hide all signatures and/or avatars, but how about on a per post basis? That's where this mod comes into play. It allows users to collapse signatures and/or avatars in the posts themselves, and upon refresh, the user's most recent selections are remembered. This mod works for those users who allow javascript and cookies. Check out the screenshots.

thanks my memebers loved this cos they are annoyed at some peoples Avatars and SIgs taking ages to load

You say "and upon refresh, the user's most recent selections are remembered"

Does this mean that if they return the next day, next week, etc. or logout, or use another computer their settings aren't saved?

@Gutspiller: It means that this mod depends on JavaScript and cookies, so as long as JavaScript is on and the vbulletin_collapse cookie hangs around, "upon refresh, the user's most recent selections are remembered."

Just throwing an idea out here- Is there a way to have all sigs and avatars in a certain forum automatically be off, and unabled to be changed?

Say if there's a forum called Latest News and you don't want sigs or avatars to be displayed in just that forum.

This is a cool hack. If I'm hiding a person's signature that has posted more than one time in the same thread, will the all the additional post that he/she made have signatures hidden as well? If so, what if the person has posted in another thread, will his/her signature be hidden there as well?

Once you colpase the user sig or av once it will be colapsed in every thread on your forum.
