No Avatar Selected - Display Appropriate Image · **Released**: 10-19-2004

In PostBit Templates - Postbit

Search for:

<if condition="$show['avatar']"><td class="alt2"><a href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"><img src="$avatarurl" alt="<phrase 1="$post[username]">$vbphrase[xs_avatar]</phrase>" border="0" /></a></td></if>

Underneath add:

<if condition="$avatarurl == null"><td class="alt2"><a href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"><img src="INSERT URL TO NO AVATAR SELECTED IMAGE" border="0" /></a></td></if>

This will maintain the flow of your board, by displaying avatars for everybody, but for those that don't have one selected yet, they will get one such as

http://www.ru55ian.net/forum/html/avatars/noavatar.gif

This is my first (and best) bit of coding, I am an absolute NEWBIE so it'll be great if this is useful to anybody!!

Hi all. I am having a bit of trouble with this one.

I run version 3.0.3.

I made the necessary changes to the code. But no default avatar symbol. (I used the one shown in this thread, uploaded as JPEG). I made sure all members had avatars enabled and selected "show avatar" in options. But no default avatar symbol.

Any ideas? Thanks.

No ideas. I am lost on this one and really wanted to get it up and running. It's got to be something simple that I am doing and/or not doing.

What URL are you specifying for the image and what is the full URL of the required image and also your forums?

Well, now I am getting a good link in my web browser to that image. But it is not showing up on my forums???
