Banner in navbar on forum home

Hey, i was wondering if its possible to edit the templates so that on forum home (only forum home) where it displays the images_vb3/misc/navbits_start.gif image and has the forums name (the table next to the one that has your welcome information) that could be replaced with a small banner.

However we'd want the navbar working normally for the rest of the forums, just an image on forum home instead of the title of the site. Thanks.

Is this like a taboo subject? lol i havent been answered anywhere i posted. is this possible at all?
