Like many of you I offer a program where members can contribute for an ad-free version. Some don't mind seeing the ads and some even prefer seeing the ads. So what I was thinking about doing is putting the ads in a collapsible box (kind of like the forum rules) and using an <if> statement around the collapse image. But...

If the box is collapsed and an ad isn't shown on the page is it still going to count as an impression? I wouldn't want to charge advertisers for that and Google (AdSense) would probably not like that one bit.

Once I get it all figured out I'll release it here.

Google Adsense is not by impressions, but rather, click-thrus. Also, I would recommend not even having the adsense code on the page of premium members because it takes quite a while to load and slows the page down.

Edit: That means, Google does not pay you for impressions.

They only pay for each time a user clicks on the ad.
