The appearance of the forums is set in templates "forumhomeforumbit1_nopost" and forumhomeforumbit2_post where you have to flip some <td>s around in code.

There´s a hack at v.org that´s called "left sidebar on all pages". You can inspire yourself from it to get it on the right side. Maybe it was concipated for vBIndex, but i´m not sure on it.
