Hey guys. Can anyone suggest how i can fix this gap in my forums.

All templates appear to be normal ..... so, maybe any MainCSS could be responsible???

The split is default code. You'd have to remove it through the postbit template.

In the postbit template find:

Change to:

nope it wouldn't work, as i think both mods misread you

anyway what you're looking at is a bug from RC2 i suggest reverting the showthread template , i think that fixed it on mine.
