Disabling users viewing threads
I'd like to turn of the (4 viewing) message on the forums. Anyone know how to do that? I can't find a setting anywhere and I'm having trouble finding it in any of the templates as well.
Thanks. |

I'm just about to go and watch the football but I will have a look at helf time and see what I can find. I did have a quick flick through some options last night and couldn't find it but it has to be there somewhere.

right then here we go
find your templates forumhome_forumbit_level1_post forumhome_forumbit_level2_post and remove the following code from both of them Code:
<if condition="$show['browsers']"><span class="smallfont">(<phrase 1="$forum[browsers]">$vbphrase[x_viewing]</phrase>)</span></if> |

Is this a very resource intensive feature? Meaning, will server load drop if this is disabled/removed?

It's only a template change that is detailed above so it won't make the slightest bit of difference. There may well be an option now in 3.6.x to stop you needing to edit the template but without going hunting for it I couldn't tell you off the top of my head what it is. Have a look through all the vBOptions for users browsing this forum though as I know that there is an option for that and it could be the same one that disables the display in the forums as well as in the thread lists.

That's what I did first...look through all the options...couldn't find it though I could have sworn it was in there somewhere.

I'm curious if there is a way to only allow mods/admins to view users reading threads?
