Default Power Outages
Things seem to be all over the news about the recent power outage, I have been watching the news and they have stated the power is recovering, though it could be a few more hours before some will see anything come back up.

From Ohio to New York and up to Toronto, Canada (sadly enough, the data center ViperHost is run in is located in Toroto Ontario, Canada which makes things even worse for myself and my clients ).

Anyone else noticing any problems though other hosts or other webistes?

I thought that might be why my site is down... it's a shame. Hopefully no data is lost.

And a few of the websites I frequent have been down this afternoon, yeah.

Well, it came back on at 7:30 and data was available, then went back down for me at 7:40 so I have not been able to access anything since then and I cannot get ahold of anyone in regards to the servers.

I hope that all is well, I have been watching the news and the president said they were doing the 'best they could' though it does not seem that is doing any good .

Yeah, I have a feeling it is going to last into night, and then the looting/rioting is going to start... which is going to be chaos.

But with a power outage, I don't see why any data would be lost, so hopefully all we get from it is downtime. And I had no idea the servers were located in Toronto, I always thought they were in Miami. Maybe that's where the older ones were or something.

We made the move from Miama to Toronto to increase speed and to increase providers.

Yeah i've been watching new's most of the day, internet net was down all day but that had nothing to do with the power going out.
Just turned on new's and it looks like the power is still out in new york.

Wonder if there will be looting.

I'm guessing there will be, I don't see why not. I heard that power was back in the Bronx, however.

And the ViperHost servers are back online.

This is what happens when you load so many cleints on one line. Its happened before on a lesser scale and it will happen again.

I don't remember previous power outage, at least that I can recall since ViperHost has been running, though that is a good thing

Yeah, I've been seeing it on my news. It's shocking how a city like New York can have a large scale outage with no backup whatsoever.
