Metting up with people you have met online.

Has anyone ever done this before?, recentally I was asked if I would like to meet up with someone ive meet thru a message board. I told him I would sleep on it as im a little parinoid about doing it and havent made up my mind yet.

If you've done it before, did it go well?.

I've met up with several people other the internet, all older than me (by 3/4 years)

First time, I met up with 2 people I met on a Final Fantasy board, a few months later, I slept round his house with 6 other people from the internet, we were all good friends and I slept round there again. It wasnt that bad, I was nervous the first time, but it went great afterwards.

I also met hellsatan from vB.org, and that was good.

It goes well as long as you have stuff to talk about, and I thought a trip to McDonalds goes down well

heh, I have thought about it and been asked a few times.I would not go to any great extent to see the person, unless it was a business venture. If you have both been at the board a while and he has not been banned for useless crap and has been ok to deal with, I am sure it would be fine.

It is a business venture but one of the iilegal kind, I wont go into it.

Im still going to think long and hard about it, because if I do go thru with it it's likely I will be metting this person alot afterwards.

I was sick all weekend so I was unable to attend an anime convention in Melbourne where about 10-20 people off a message board I go to meet. I am probably going next year, so that would be my first time.

ive met quiten afew ppl from online, offline, and as long as you know the person fairly well, i dont see much danger. i met the hacker zajako from vb.org and weve been good friends since

I've never met anyone from the internet...as the only way I've got to know people on the internet, is in text format. I haven't hung out with them or anything, and the only way proper friends IMO can be made is by hanging out with them and having met them initially in person.
