An actual gallery script would not be a simple template modification, rather a hack. I would try asking over at vBulletin.org for such help.

Ah, I remember that now, kinda places those looking for such hacks in a predicament, eh? Perhaps you could contact one of the hack authors there (that openly accepts PM's) and ask them about it.

Chances are if you ask for a custom hack, it will cost (though some may be generous enough to do it freely). Who knows, maybe someone is already working on one .
