well i just upgraded my box ... and now im trying to re install vbulletin 2.2.9 i enter all the info in and i get ...

Attempting to attach to database...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in /win/web/forums/admin/db_mysql.php on line 38

i even tried no username or password .. i even set the

// use persistant connections to the database
// 0 = don't use
// 1 = use
$usepconnect=0;

...

but if i dont enter any mysql password i get this error ...
