Yes, only without hacking. Template modding is always (or at least usually) better than hacking IMHO

No, the vast majority of them just can't be ported to phpinclude. I don't intend to port any more, but so few people realize the power of the phpinclude template and just hack the files instead.

Template editing makes for easier upgrading, thats the only reason I'd use phpinclude for these types of mods.

That's the only reason I would too. Hacking is better in every other respect, especially speed. My Google mod here does an eval on an eval.
