why is this template needed? what does it includes ... and how does it shown on forumhome

It's the code for everything under the category header title. (Eg. Forum, Last post, replies number, therad number etc.)

I didn't create those templates, best to ask a vb.com if nobody here knows of it's existance.

Because in vBulletin each category is really just a forum that allows no post, hench the no_post templates. The reason you have level 2 templates is the Depth of Forums setting the the vbulletin options. if it only went to one level you couldent have the category over a few of your forums effect that most users use.

If you wanted you could set the Depth of Forums setting to 3, make a level 3 post and no post template. add a subforum to one of your forums and it would show on the main page, this is not recomended due to performance reasons.

heres a screenshot of what i mean.

the Level 1 testing forum is using the level1_post template and has no parent forum.

the catgory is using level1_no_post and its subforum is using level 2_post.
