Not bad, although you should make the category backgrounds backwards compatible (they look a little off in 1024x768 resolutions).

Yes nice so far, maybe try to make your borders a little more visible. They only show well on the lighter blue shade your using.

if you use skinned categories then you must set the forum size to a set value to avoid wrapping of the graphics

You should make the new gradient use the whole space, don't like the little bit of space at the start.
