I just bought a new domain name that's more specific to the topic of my site, my question is how do I switch the domains?
I'm assuming I should keep the old domain as well so people who try to go to the old name will be redirected. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

also in the config.php theres an email addy thing in there that may need changing to the new domain name.
also change Help Site Name / URL / Contact Details in admincp do all this after the domain name change. see if your web host will allow you to add a pointer. use your old addy as the pointer. i think that the web host may have to change their settings so enquire with them also. there may be other things... but ive only bin using VB for 2 weeks now! |
