Default Header/footer alignment

Please take a look at this. As you can see the header and footer are misaligned - it's all set to "center" but they're about 2 pixels out of alignment with the main section of the forum.

How do I sort this?

Also, the header has left a 1 pixel gap between itself and the main forum - how do I get them close up together?

I'm using Internet Explorer 6 and the alignments look fine to me. It might just be the browser you're using; I know that Firefox causes all sorts of misalignments.

Even so, the first thing I'd try if I were you, is to set the table borders to 0 in the style manager.

I use Firefox, but I checked in Internet Explorer 6 too, and it's the same.

Just underneath the "first time here? : hedgehog network :" etc... navigation bar (under the home/reviews/news archive buttons) there is a line, and the misaligned part starts right underneath that. You can see the gap, and if you follow it to the left and right, it's not lined up right with the part above the line.

Here is what I mean. Above the red line.

(Also - the borders are all set to 0 anyway)

Ah, right, you have another skin as your default so I couldn't see it.

Well, I dunno, try seeing if you have extra spaces in the header or footer templates somewhere, it could be that one line has a space before or after the image, which is why it's shifted. Also, if you are using tables, make sure you have the cell border at 0, and the cellpadding and cellspacing as well.

Ah, thanks! I found an extra space and it sorted it. I'm still having the gap issue though. I'm gonna look through all the tables in the header, but I'm sure they've all got 0 border.

For that, you might also want to check your carriage returns in the header.

Good to hear.

I think I've figured it out... I made the header from a Photoshop sliced image, and there's an extra bunch of cells at the bottom of the table with a blank spacer image in them - gonna be tricky getting rid of only those. I've had a few botched up attempts lol.

Could you have a look at it? I'm having no luck... there's a whole bunch of extra cells at the bottom of the table (I put a border on so you can see).

Here it is.

Here, use this code instead:
http://www.toxicfire.com/frosty/forumheader.html (Use View Source).
All I did was comment out the last table row. I left it all in there as comments in case you still want those there for some reason.

That's exactly what I did the first time - and it's done the same with yours what it did with mine. The right hand side has messed up.

I've sorted it, I did a new slice in photoshop and got rid of the bottom row that way.

But in Internet Explorer it's still the same. Typical. Firefox looks fine, but Internet Explorer is acting as though I havent changed anything - it's the exact same issue.
