You should have checked out the sticky threads in the Service Request forum.

Yeah, you should be carefull with those new guys, if I was posting a service request, I would of made sure that the person doing the job hs been here a long time, visits and posts often, and has a higher post count. HATE just registered about a month and a half ago and only has 40 posts.

Having a lot of posts has nothing to do with anything, A user can easily be active and know much more about vBulletin / Coding or what not than someone with 200 posts, just dpeends how long they have been around. Also be sure that the user has a portfolio and maybe some testimonials of past jobs/customers.

If you have time to wait, you can check up on the user, by asking other members here what their opinions of that user is - If they say "never heard of him/her", take it as a sign that maybe they aren't the best person to have to complete your service request

In my opinion, i wouldn't pay the person upfront, i would wait for them to finish what you asked of them, unless ofcourse they are doing a 'huge' service, and you pay them a certain % upfront.
I've always asked my clients to pay me what they think the job done was worth and only after i have completed the service and they are fully satisfied, but that's just me, i get overly paranoid and guilty too easily. - Zero Tolerance |
