Using .PNG graphics with IE 5.5+
It's a well known fact that PNG graphics don't display correctly in IE but I've been using a utility for the past couple of years that DOES allow full support for IE 5.5 and newer.
Until recently, I've been a PHPNuke user and I know how to get it working with Nuke. In fact, if you would like to see a site with this util installed, visit my home page at www.tomkinson.org for an idea of how the PNG images look. Basically, the Topic icons and other "none-themed" graphics are all PNG images. Right clicking on them will give you "x.gif" for all graphics - that's just how the software works. Open the site in Firefox to see that the images are in fact PNG files. This is really nice to have as you can switch from a white to dark theme, patterned backgrounds etc. and have partial transparency of your images etc. PNG's can really make a difference for the eye candy factor. The reason for my post is how do I implement it in vBulletin? It needs to be "active" throughout a vBulletin site and I have no idea where to place the line of code. For those that do want to look at this, grab the version I have on my Nuke site from here... http://nuke.tomkinson.org/modules.ph...p=getit&lid=12 I got the original utility from here. It's not specific to anything so I assume there's got to be a way to activate it in any website/application. http://www.youngpup.net/2001/sleight Sorry, this was meant to relate to VB3! | |
