Rotating Signatures
Does VB have a hack for rotating signatures? I'm looking for something that would allow for approx 5 different signatures to put into the user CP and then rotate with each new post. Thanks for any help.

The closest I have seen is the User Selectable Signature Line Display Limit mod wich allows the user to select which sig to display per post. Maybe with a little tweaking you can get it to do what you want.

I have NO clue about coding so it's not something that "I" could do.
Edited: That doesn't look like what I'm wanting though. I'm looking for a hack that will allow each user to create up to 5 different signatures in their profile and it will rotate them after each post. It would be similar to a banner rotation but in signatures. We had one on Invision and our members are missing it horribly. |

I post on Gamespot forums, and we use www.cutandpastescripts.com and their rotating sig/banner script, and just plug it into our sig areas, I have not yet tried it on vBulletin though.

I know this can't be that hard of a script, I just don't know how to do coding. No one can do this? We really could use it.

It wouldnt technically be hard - just a butt pain.
You would need to have an option for which signature they were writing when editing their sig. How many they can have, what if they can have 3 but only have 1 filled out? How are you going to store them (user profile fields?) how are you going to pull them (random during constructing the post?). Its a nice idea - and not hard to do - but a lot of work to make it decent. Good luck |

We have a Random Signature script that was developed by a friend. He is actually looking to have it ported to vB.
you can have a gander at it here: http://www.gaming-freaks.net/randsig/ There is a version 2.0 which we are finishing, but version 1.0 would give you and idea. take a look at this demo: Refresh this post to see the image rotate. |
