Ok, I just changed webhosts. I backed up the database and saved it as vbulletin.sql Now, I copied the entire html directory from the old host. Now, I just uploaded everything to the new host. Here is the issue... I can NOT change the name of my database. Second, there is an 8MB limit to the upload of the database in the control panel for my domain. I called tech support about it and they told me that I had to connect through SSH. That is not the issue...my only problem is not being able to change the name of the database. How is vb going to know where to find the new database???

Your host would already have created a database for you, or you cando it in your server panel. If you set a new database up yourself, make sure you also create a user with correct permissions for it.
About the old databasename, there is probaably a create database statement in teh top of your backup sql-file. Comment that out. |

There is no need to changes the database name.
Edit your inclused/config.php to match the new database info (name, user, pass). Restore you backup using SSH after commenting out the create database statement, like i said before. |
