There are two vb message boards: mine at www.lexiglobal.net and a closely affiliated one which just started up at at www.upearth.org. Does anyone know how to combine membership for both vb's and other vb's I would like to integrate into the network at a later time, so users won't have to worry about multiple registration? I was told at vbulletin.com that there is a workable hack for this, although I can't find it offhand. Help would be greatly appreciated.

You seem to be using a very old and insecure version of vB on lexiglobal, i suggest you upgrade to the latest version ASAP, before doing any integrations. PS I don't know if you bought a branding free license, but putting the copyright in the same color as the background is not allowed unless you have a branding free license.
The second site is running on a nullified version. I suggest they use their licensed version from their member area download to avoid possible security risks. |

As for upgrading, I shall attend to that, but the forum was somewhat of an infant mortality and is quite dead atm. Starting a forum in a community-based website is like trying to get people to dance at a party without the luxury of a alcohol. *sigh* And nullified? Great! I didn't notice that either. I'll have to speak with their webmaster... Anyway, thx. |

I hope bumping is allowed.
I have a number of ideas regarding what I'm trying to do. For one, perhaps I can setup a remote registration system, registering basic information at several sites at once. In fact, the webmaster of www.upearth.org is already working on a similar hack. That might be really cool, as members could have different profiles on different message boards, and perhaps we can work on a global profile setup utility in the future, which would allow the editing of all profiles. Is that doable even if there are several domains involved? And, where exactly does vB store individual membership data? |
