I'm not sure this is the right place to post this.... but I've already installed and used the hack links database which is working brilliantly at our site www.helpeducation.com - we've not added many links, in fact, there's only one! but its looking ok for the categories etc....

I have written a little bit of code which gets the category name from the DB and creates a list based on that.....but how would I then in SQL find out how many links have been added in categories below the parent? eg:

main category
- sub cat (3 links)
- sub cat again (5 links)

I need to somehow workout what sub categories each parent cat has, then count the number of links....

is it possible?
