Default Additional style added. Want comments.

Hey guys. I added an additional style to my board. Personally, I like it better than my current default, but I can't change it now because of the BotM vote going on. Still, can I get some comments on it?

Review the Euphoria style.

That is some major style, congrats! Very theme-oriented.

1. The font is a bit small.
2. Instead of using a darker color for a:hover, use pure white or something that accents the link, not that hides it.
3. The dropdown arrow for the DHTML menus doesn't look like an arrow (at least to me) nor does the blue match the color scheme. I would replace it with the default vB arrow, possibly colored to match your style.
4. Move all non-content such as the Latest Discussions and Mouse Points to below the fold. Users do not want to read this first; they want to access your forums.
5. 91 XHTML validation errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...%3Fstyleid%3D1

I prefer the Hogwarts theme ... everything is more visible, doesn't look cluttered, doesn't seem 'busy'.

great job on the graphics!!

Now go fix your html problems ...
convert over url instance of
HTML Code:
&
to
HTML Code:
&
and change
HTML Code:
widt"5%"
to
HTML Code:
width="5%"
that should validate your code or at least get it close to it

Thanks, I wonder why I didn't run this through the validator to begin with. I usually do. Anyway...

1) That depends on your screen resolution I suppose. I use 1024x768, but test at 800x600. I want to make sure the defaults are good at those two resolutions. Most browsers have a font size override setting for those who wish to do so.

2) I agree, but the a:link color is already bright and I used white to highlight the navbar and popup links. Besides, sometimes doing something in reverse can be just as effective. I think I'm gonna leave this one alone.

3) It isn't supposed to be an arrow. Just a visual indicator that there's something special about the menu item. It'll be obvious one they click it. That image, and the collapse images are all little gems. Again, unless I find a better colorization setting for that one, it will remain blue.

4) My users disagree. They asks that I put it there. What can you do?

5) Thanks, errors fixed.

Thanks to everybody who gave input on this. Regardless of whether I took a suggestion or not, it was valued.
