I don't own it, "beano33" does, if that makes any sense.
There's several of us that use this account, including the owners. I'm the forum admin who adds a lot of modifications and keeps people in line.
My username on hfboards.com is Buffaloed.

It is very bad practise to share your user account here. Worsed case scenario it could even cost you your license (if someone using your account would be repatativly break license agreement for example). Also there is no real need for it, since the license owner can add 3 technical mail addresses, those mail addresses would also get official access to the vB forums.

Having all installed hacks and subscribed threads under one account is a major benefit. Those with access can easily see what's installed, and what's being considered. It keeps everyone on the same page. Worst case scenario is a bad administrator with high level access (the only ones that can use this account) can delete/modify the database, customized templates, php files, and associated website(s). If someone is trusted with that access, they absolutely have to be trusted not to jeopardize the site's vBulletin license. It may be bad practice for most sites, but it works for us. It should be noted that while forums are important, they are not our main website as I indicated in my initial post.

Well, you probably know what type of reaction you'll get from me, Buffaloed. :P

I think you've done a terrific job with the site -- especially when you consider all that has happend with the NHL this season... It ain't easy trying to maintain a website, when there just isn't much of it (hockey) to talk about.

I'm just curious to know what type of advertising methods you have done, to create such a large community fanbase... You guys are definetly #1 on the list (at least in my opinion) when it comes to talking hockey with other fans on the web. If there isn't 1 person who follows hockey, and doesn't already know about HFBoards.com, I'd be hard press to find out.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I think you've got a bit of everything going with your site!

Thanks for the kind words. We don't do any advertising although I'm tempted to recommend something when the lockout ends. The free content from the ~50 writers on the main site is what makes the forums go. You have to pay for anything remotely comparable. People don't like to pay. :laugh:
