I have coded a small cron job.
When I run it manually from the Scheduled Task Manager, it completes normally. vb reports DONE, and the output is added to the database as expected. Life is good. But it never runs automagically. I am stumped on how to begin debugging this problem. vb shuffles the job in the list according to when it will be run next, so it seems to be trying it every day. All the other jobs seem to be working. Appreciate any insight.... many thanks in advance. Okay got it. Sometimes just posting here gives me the motivation or "fresh eye" to see the problem. Changed an include statement to a require_once statement. The file to include is './includes/functions_mysite.php', just my own collection of common routines. This still leaves me scratching my head. I cannot find where it might be previously included when the cron job runs automatically. But apparently not included when the cron job is run manually from the admin panel. Anyone familiar witjh this scenario? I think I am missing a trick when it comes knowing the difference between manual and runtime cron jobs... |
