Maybe I'm just not finding it but I'm surprised this isn't a feature or an option already

Basically, I run an RPG board but have had users spam the registration system in order to gain points. It's ridiculous, and I need it to stop.

You do realize a lot of places use NAT (or PAT etc) and only have one outside IP for hundreds (possibly more) people which includes a lot of students, not to mention workplaces an' stuff?
