I baked up the files I edited before doing the edits...so should I upload the files prior to editing and start the edit over with word pad?

functions.php was saved in unix format text and I think dreamweaver saves it in a windows format text which where the issues come from. There is a way to get dreamweaver to recongnize and save the files in unix format but I dont know what it is offhand.

Arg, I'm having the exact same problem here, with DW and functions.php. Followed Zachery's advice about Wordpad, but still have the same problem.
Help? :ermm:
