Mod_Rewrite DONE. Anyone Interested? Details »»

Hello,
I've just completed Mod_Rewrite-ing vbArticles for GreenHybrid. I'm not sure if anyone had released a hack like this, but is anyone interested in using it? You can see it in action at http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/ My actual forums are at /discuss/, so the code actually transports everything to a new directory (if you want). The following URLs are generated and work: http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/category/3/ http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/cat...accord-hybrid/ http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/article/6/ http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/art...ybrid-review)/ http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/article/6/page2/ http://www.greenhybrid.com/learn/article/6/comments/ Show Your Support

I don't know if I have the time to make a perfect tutorial for installation, but in a few steps I can basically convey how it can be done. I'll see about doing that soon.

Interesting!! Will like to see this!
Personally, I don't really need a tutorial...

Alright. First, I'm going to change mine a little bit so it takes out more characters than just "/". Then, I'll add HTML extensions at the end of the URLs. My instructions will include a lot of find/replace and common sense, so if you only have one or neither at all, better find a friend
Oh, just think I'll add that there are 40 rewrite commands in the htaccess file. Talk about fun stuff...

Will your modification ( good job btw greenhybrid
) require many file changes to articles.php ?Future upgrades may be a concern if so, so you might want to document everything properly

Yes, it edits articles.php, but literally you just have to copy a little snippet and paste it 5 or so times in the document. No biggie.

Sorry it's taking so long, for those of you interested. There are some changes I'd like to make, and I likely won't have the time until next week.

When will you have time to complete this? A beta, "as-is" code would also be welcome.
