Tips on moving board to new server?
I am planning on moving my board to a new server this weekend. I'm pretty clueless on how to do it. Anyone have some tips they can share? TIA I'm pretty nervous about it.

backup your forums folder, backup your database, make sure your new server has SSH/Telnet or phpmyadmin, and just do a restore after you reupload your forums folder and make the necessary changes to the /includes/config.php file and your forum will be back to the way it was when you made the database backup

How big is your database? If both hosts have SSH and FTP, just followvBulletin's user manual and you will have zero problems. You couldalways do a test run too which would give you some practice.

yeah, no worries. i've done it a couple times and as long as you back it up, you'll be fine.

Some cpanel distrobutions have an option to backup the entire site... and by that I mean ENTIRE: DBs, email stuff, files, and other settings.
hope that helps... although it may be a bit late. |

Otherwise i can be not fun, but still simple. I moved 10~ gb, multiple accounts, and multiple mysql databases from 1 server to another in a matter of a few hours A small site shoulnd't be that big |
