Help With Randomly Assigning Members To Usergroups
I installed a hack that automatically/randomly assigns new registrants to one of two user groups for an ongoing game. I am talking with another forum about a possible merge. To keep this game working, I need to randomly assign all the new members from the merge into a new usergroup. I assume when we merge, they'd be placed into the normal Registered user group, and then from there they need to be split up. How can I go about this?

how are you planning to merge the databases?

So before the the merge you have nobody in the normal registered group?
If yes, a simple SQL query after the import could do the trick. |

I would be importing a database that would have everyone in the normal registered group. I somehow need to then randomly assign these members to two different usergroups, either before or after the merge, but either way they can't be in the normal registered group.
