What is BBSZenDex?

BBSZenDex is an index of forum resources for community owners and administrators. From vBulletin Styles & Designers to vBulletin Hacks, down to a selection of shared and dedicated hosting providers, BBSZenDex bridges the gap between these resources and lists them under one website, designed for easy browsing. Additional resources are provided as well for the phpBB & Invision Board community software for those that run alternate boards as well.


Just Another Forum Directory, So What?

BBSZenDex was custom-coded, built off of and integrated with vBulletin 3.0. With that said, we have more flexability over turn-key directory solutions and can integrate new options and features as we see fit without having to rely on support from the creators of the software. The power of vBulletin alone allows us to customize our visitors browsing experience. As it stands, we already have a new program in development of which will be premiering a short bit after Valentines Day has passed. Those that keep up to date will be revealed additional information via our news posting.

While BBSZenDex is an acting index for various forum related resources, it is not a your typical run of the mill index/directory where you submit and go. The BBSZD is hand-edited and all submissions are verfied against our submission queue. While some may view this as a time consuming process, the purpose of BBSZD is to develop an index of quality links community owners and admins want to visit, not simply fill up our index with a mass amount of links that may be of no interest to our visitors.

We are still coding away and further developing BBSZenDex as we have been for the past month. New features are planned, new programs and a great deal more and we hope to gain feedback from visitors .


Your forum is missing, Why?

BBSZenDex is built around vBulletin, the purpose of this 'introduction' was to show what can be done with vBulletin as well as initroduce visitors to BBSZenDex.

Now, this is not to say the forum will 'not' be active, we simply are making the index our primary focus as with its growth. Once we see the reaction from visitors, we will open up shop with the corresponding forum for the website .



With that said, please feel free to share your opinions on the website, the index and the overall idea in general. I ask that you please provide constructive feedback and treat this as a professional manor and keep in mind the index is one that is growing. We neither have completed all aspects of the website that we currently with to offer nor have we limited ourself to what is available at the moment .

Interesting that you're not using a forum itself. Interesting the way you're setting this out. The concept is out, but there are quite a lot of sites like this, so you'll need to stand out in order to gain more hits and that.

As for the website, it will be different more so than it already is from current directories. Rather than targetting all forums, we are specifically targetting a select few sources and reviewing them before addition to the index (which is why we do not and will not offer instant submission to the index).

We have already started further development and updates through-out the website, though they are not currently viewable by the public at the moment.

The newest release of the directory will make use of the vBulletin forum software and the community end, though the main focus of the website will remain on the index and the resources available through the index.

The coding is always being worked on, the HTML to ensure proper display and the overall features available to visitors. Suggestions have came in, of which we are making use of as we are able, so we hope to have the newer version available soon enough for public viewing.
