Show variable from non vb file (it's a hack) in postbit?

I got a hack running on an external page. How can I make a variable from that hack appear in postbit ? Since simply typing "$variable", doesn't work.

Add the variable into vB. You could do it in phpinclude if you want it to work everywhere, or simply the file you need it in (showthread/showpost).
