I've installed ibproarcade and it seems to work just fine. However, now I just happened to notice the existance of v3arcade.
What are the pro's or con's of each? Is one any better supported than the other? Also, any idea where I can download some games for ibproarcade? (their website won't allow me register, so I cannot download games... |

Right now v3Arcade is being mostly supported by its users. John (the author) is busy with other things and hasn't had a lot of time to devote to v3Arcade. I have an area on my site for inproarcade games that I myself have converted. There will be others contributing games there soon. Hope this helps. ![]() |

ibProArcade has better support and many more games available for it (about double any other arcade system). However, it's designed to be a plugin for vB to fool the script in to thinking that the board is an Invision - which in my opinion slightly limits you.
v3arcade is a pure vBulletin mod, but it's basic installation is just that - basic. Many addons are available for it, however. I much prefer the design of v3arcade overall though.. Support is limited and generally provided by other users, as Bob as said. Really, it's up to you - but ibProArcade IS more efficient and DOES have more games. |

Personally I like v3arcade better, mostly because it fully integrates with vB, plus some of the features (like emails sent to the previous champion when their score is beat). ibPro does have a lot more games though, which is why I switched.

ibproarcade does have av3Arcade skin you can use if you prefer v3Arcade's design better.

Besides, I said that I preferred it to ibProArcade's - I've completely changed mine. ![]() |

To each their own.
If John was still supporting it, I might have waited to make the change. When I have to add a ton of mods to get the same functionality that ibproarcade already has, then it's time for a switch. |

ibpro is the best cause of the features the others have listed above but i wish someone would make it more vb3 looking as i dont like the way the template shows it all as if it just jumped straight off the invision board.Yeah i know u can switch to vb3 skin style but tbh thats no better either.
Main page needs a complete overhaul to bring it upto vb3 standards. |

Im fairly biased since I operate an arcadegames site explicitly for v3 arcade - But with it aside, IMO, v3 is better because of (like mentioned before) its total vbull functionality.
Theres enough hacks to give it as much functionality as ibpro, if you take the time, and have the basic know-how to install them. Configurablity and ease of Modification makes the v3 arcade best in my book. I dont know if John plans to further it, as hes recently stated his plans are to release a new stand alone product, so the developer seems out of the picture for it, but, other users are still furthering the project. |

i think it was johns lack of development (i know he`s busy so this aint a snipe) that allowed ibpro to get a foothold + the amount of games that ibpro has for it as well, wheras on vb3 arcade everyone on that board went crazy about getting the authors permission first to convert em so they hindered a lot of people so they took their converted games underground and allowed a selected few to grab them.
I meself prefer Johns layout and it was nicely done but i have found myself following the trend simply because ibpro has more games and a torunament option. |
