vB2: Force 'guests' to login at forumdisplay level?
i do not want unregistered/not logged in users to be able to view anything beyond the forumhome page. so when a guest clicks on a forum, i want to display the login/register message.
i currently have the unregistered/not logged in usergroup set to: Can view board: YES Can view others' threads: NO however, when they click on a forum, they just get a 'there have been 0 posts made in the last 1000 days' message, rather than a login/register prompt. can anyone tell me what i need to change? thanks in advance. |

you'd have to turn "can view board" off and then poke around global.php and find the spot where the permissions are checked. Add an if to check if the current page is index.php and if it is, skip the nopermission function. Sorry, i don't have a vb2 installation at hand, but that's how you do it.
