Did you add any hacks recently? If so retrace the hack instructions of the profile.php and see where the problem lies. If not go ask the hack author about where it may have went wrong.

Well which one made file edits to profile.php ? Once you find that out go double check you didn't miss anything.... OR upload a fresh copy of profile.php

The only file I can find that code in is private.php rather than profile.php - are you sure you have the right file?
