Every time I find a thread about a hack I'd like to read, I have to sift through piles of crap to get to the real stuff. How about a global include for all this tripe and save some space and bandwidth?

If only it was possible to "seperate" the threads, taking all the a$$ kissing () into a seperate "part" of the thread, and all bug reports in another, this would let unsupported hacks to become much more attractible. Users could "select" the mode, View Problems and View A$$kissing XD
Either do that or create a new forum, dupe to the current coding forums, and have it dupe all new hacks and use one for bugs and one for a$$kissing.

Im not too bothered by all the yappin in threads though, but I do see how it is a problem with unsupported hacks.

Yeah these replies do get kind of tedious at times. I spoke to Stefan about a solution a couple of weeks ago. I have some free time this weekend so I'll see what I can draw up on paper

I thought the hack authors would appreciate some praise for their hard work, it doesn't seem so?

You have to see, some authors prefer that people reply saying they like or installed their mod, it makes them realise their work is appreciated.

I don't think their phased, whatsoever, about the posts you need to go through.

It's not that modification author's don't apprecaite thanks. We do! But, imagine it from a new-user here. They install a modification and get an error, and then have to look through 20 pages of thanks and replies like above to find a solution
