Convert to VB3 if possible
I am considering converting over from phpbb but I am concerned with the convert process. I understand that to accomplish the conversion, the database name given to VB needs access to the phpbb database. There may lie some trouble as my hiost servers will not allow the same username on a second database name although the database may be named differently..
Now to the meat of The question: Can it be done or am I stuck in phpbb land ? |

yes you can do it. WHen you purchase VB the is a tool for importing all your phpbb data into a new db

you can also stick with the same db (thats what I did) by putting the same set of details in the converter for from db and to db. The only thing that needs to be different is the table prefix which is phpbb_ for phpbb and you can set it to whatever you want for vB
