Member Profile as there home page

I would like to know if there is a way to have members profile page be set up like a mini home page. They could put information about themselves there and have there own guest book. I have seen it before, but I knew it was customized. I am wondering if there is a hack for this.
Two of the features could be you have pre designed templates along with you being able to allow a Max upload of attachment size.
