Backup Strategy?

Hi All,

How & how often do all of you conduct a vbulletin database backup? I'm thinking of setting up a cron job to do the mysql dump to a directory, then ftp to a remote server, was just curious what you all do. Is there an easier way?

On my last job as administrator a nightly cron job was ran on the server to do the backup. It's far safer and in the long-term easier to do it this way
