Default What are the requirements to become a Coder or Advanced Coder here?

I couldn't find any information on this - but what, exactly, are the requirements for being promoted to a Coder or Advanced Coder on vBulletin.org?

I realize that it is related to the number of hacks and the number of installs that you claim - but what are the exact numbers and/or other specifics?

And are there any benefits other than the Title change?

Thanx!

My apologies. I did do a search initially, but it didn't come up with anything. But after expanding my search, I found a thread (not that it was much use).

Thanks, anyway!

simple... the feature you tell is simple:

1- if you are a coder, your rank may change...
2- if you provide hacks only to have your title changed, you're blonde
3- if you think the member title will give you a great job, forget it
4- this title is just to identify the coders here, not the great ones or bad ones
5- this is just a featurette to make the board more like a support board...

There isn't really much point seperating coders and advanced coders. Especially if the coders 'advanced' status is achieved via churning out a mass number of (sub-standard) hacks or by "updating" or "re-releasing" hacks coded 90% by other people. Not that I would directly accuse anyone of that. Wouldn't it just be simpler to either be a coder or a member, rather than having the advanced coder classification which does not directly correlate to ability or devotion?

If you're putting out sub-standard hacks, no one will install them. I would think that your Install Count would not be a bad way to measure the perceived quality of your work...

I don't mean sub-standard asin badly coded I mean sub-standard in the context of: the standard of hacks and the complexity and simplicity of some hacks when compared to others available on vb.org.
Install Count shows how many people think their forum would benefit from a hack and are willing to install it not how well coded it is.
I'm just saying there is no reason to have advanced classification.
