Alternative Journal System - But is it possible ?
Ok. Since ,as of now , the real blog system don't exist[ I know that some serious work is going on it... :ermm: ] so I came up with this idea. Now here's what I want to do to create a Blog...
I create a special forum and then syndicate out the latest posts and their content [ Hint - Featured threads at DaniWeb.com ] to a special page in the subfolder Site.com/blog . How is it possible ? I know how to syndicate the latest threads using external.php [ :ninja: now stop laughing , I know I sound stupid in here but I am not from technical background... I am from Marketing Industry ] but how can I syndicate the Text for those latest threads. [ And If Possible , the full content of the first post ]... Any suggestions. |

I would suggest you look at something like vbAdvanced CMPS and its News function.
You can create as many 'news' displays as you like. Basically that just means you need a forum for each blogger (but it can be hidden) Doing it via syndication is the long way around, IMO, since most of what you want already exists within the CMPS... and with a couple of template mods here and there, can be made to work quite well. |

Thanks for the tip... Since I will not be offering the blogging feature to the public so I think that I can use it the way you suggested!
Thanks... |

you're welcome -- its absolutely ideal if you only want it for administration/personal use.
