Adjusting the size of [img]'s!

Hi Folks.
Is it possible to resize posted images?
At the moment whenever a user posts a huge image at a higher resolution than the screen, the whole page looks a mess.
Also: can anyone reccomend a decent, easy to install shoutbox?
