ok well i want to keep each one in columns but since latest entries and latest journals are going to be listed i need to have them in their own table inside a table. so basically my problem is all that extra space. any suggestions on how i can rid of that space or put them in columns?

Can you be more specific? I'm trying to help you accomplish what you need.

i have solved this myself by changing the <tr> tags to <div> tags
