Proxy, IP Banning
I don't know if it's in the vBulletin script already but as you know this times people use proxies a lot so if someone register on my forums and spam it then I ban it's IP he will just change the proxy and do it again. Does it show the real IP even if they use proxies? If not can someone make a hack that will show their real IP not the proxy they use.

Hello,
I guess that if they use anonymous proxy, their original ip address is stripped and not available in any way. Gilles |

This kind of hack will be very useful since 99% of the proxies are not anonymous.
and most of the anonymous proxies are not free any way. |

is this even possible? you can't gather any more information than the IP visiting your site...can you?

The idea is that we can create a blacklist and share it out amoungst other users and have a chunk of proxies already loaded. When someone visits from a banned range, it can give them a random or preset phrase, and then shuttle them off to a preset or random webite address (pisses them off). Mine works perfect, but needs a more admin friendly interface. Anyone interested in giving me a hand with the finishing touches, let me know. |
