Hint: be a man and get an actual UPS instead of a lame surge protector that offers no real protection. Lookit (although the battery remaining estimate is always way off given that this is a 350 VA UPS...). I have one at work too that's older and weighs more than a car battery

I have two 8-socket (4 UPS/ 4 Filtered power only) 750 VA UPS for my home computer. It just doesn't make sense to spend thousands of dollars on computer equipment and not add a few hundred dollars to protect it from power spikes, lightning strikes, power outages, etc.

I have the APC Back-UPS RS 1500 and I only have about 39 minutes runtime on it. I'm drawing about 190 watts off it and it can take up to 865 watts. filburt, you must not have a lot hooked up to yours at all.

The backup is technically rated at IIRC 200W, which I don't know how it is rated at 350VA at the same time. |
