Giving a subsciption to an entire usergroup?
Up until now, subscriptions on my board have been handled manually - the member paid (via a method not connected to vB) and then I maunually changed their usergroup to "Community Supporter". At present, I have to keep a big spreadsheet of those who have paid so that I can manually expire their accounts at the appropriate time.
The vB Paid Subsciption system handles this all automatically, which is great. However, I still have the issue of several hundred "Community Supporters" who has previously been activated manually. New subscribers aren't a problem - they can just go through the vB subscription process. My question is this: how do I give my entire "Community Supporter" usergroup a paid subscription? I figure I'll have to give them all a year from when I launch the automatic system (I imagine vB doesn't keep a record of when their usergroup was changed), which is a shame, but seemingly unavoidable. But what I need to do is to give all of them a one-year's subsciption beginning from today. If there is a way vB can "backdate" the subscriptions to when I originally changed their usergroup, that'd be great, but I imagine that that is wishful thinking! Thanks for your help! |
